Bisons Places OF Bubba Bell on the Disabled List
August 18, 2011 –The Buffalo Bisons today announced that OF RAUL REYES has been promoted to the team from Double-A Binghamton. Reyes will fill the roster spot of OF BUBBA BELL, who was placed on the disabled list today with a left hamstring strain. Reyes, 24, has played in 106 games with the Binghamton Mets of the Eastern League this year. The outfielder has hit .292 (107-367) with 20 doubles, four triples, 12 home runs and 50RBI. He has also stolen six bases in 10 attempts. Originally signed by the Mets as a non-drafted free agent in 2004, Reyes has averaged .333 (37-111) since the All-Star Break and .475 (19-40) n 12 games this August. Bell has missed the last three games since playing in the first game of Monday’s doubleheader against Durham. In 58 total games with the Bisons this year, Bell has hit .234 (34-145) with one home run, 17RBI and a team-high eight stolen bases.
