8-17-21 - BA - College Player of the Year
Kumar Rocker turned in an impressive third season of college baseball. In addition to matching Leiter for the most strikeouts, his 14 wins were the most in the nation. In three seasons on campus, he went 28-10, 2.89 with 321 strikeouts and 68 walks in 236.2 innings.
Mack's spin -
I seem to be the only person that still ranks Rocker as the top RHP and an early first round pick.
That's fine. I can take the heat.

JACKSON COX
Right-Handed Pitcher
Toutle Lake High School (Toutle, WA)
Cox really saw enormous growth moving into the 2022 cycle, now featuring first round stuff at times. He’s got a strong, long body with excellent mechanics and an extremely quick arm on the mound. He’s wirey and whippy on the bump with plenty of conviction and starter traits. He shows good extension and finish and commands the baseball very well out of the windup or the stretch. Right now, it’s primarily a fastball/slider combo that tunnel well off each other. He’s generally 91-93, though the fastball has been up to 96. The breaking ball has big potential with spin rates in excess of 3000 RPM. As Cox continues to develop his changeup and further grows more into his 6-foot-1, 175-pound frame, the stuff could continue to tick up and his stock may further rise. The pure stuff is significant here and potentially worthy of a Top 100 selection next July. Cox is committed to the University of Oregon.
Mack's spin -
26 innings pitched, 30 strikeouts, 1.42 WHIP
Ouch!
These kind of WHIP stats do not warrant a slot on my board yet.

Dylan Lesko, RHP, Buford HS -
Dylan Lesko is in the conversation for top high school pitcher in the class. He’s a good sized and projectable right hander who has touched 97 MPH with more in the tank to go with an excellent change and slider as part of a deep arsenal of pitches. Lesko isn’t just a velocity guy, but a kid who understands how to pitch. If it wasn’t for the fact high school right handers don’t go No. 1, Lesko could be in that conversation for the top pick overall as well.
Mack's spin -
I just moved Lesko to the #2 RHP slot, ahead of Bryce Osmond.

Jayson Jones, 3B (Texas)
Jones is a physical, 6-foot-2, 190-pound infielder who routinely stands out as having one of the better swings in the class. He has great bat speed and plenty of natural strength to go with it and shows an ability in batting practice to drive the ball with authority to both the pull side and to the opposite field. He’s an explosive rotator within his swing, with a steep finish in his follow through and the ability to drive the ball with authority wherever it’s pitched.
At PG National, Jones tied Washington infielder Dominic Hellman for the best exit velocity of the event at 105 mph, and in games has shown the ability to turn around 90-plus mph velocity and make adjustments within an at-bat to breaking stuff.
Mack's spin -
A local boy for me (Savannah), Jones has some serious pop and looks like the real deal.
For now, he is my 6th third baseman.
5-21 - Prospects Live
Josiah Harrison
Harrison has a terrific baseball frame at 6’1”, 175lbs with long legs, a high waist and broad shoulders -- he oozes projection and athleticism. He was also one of the testing standouts at PGN, showing plus speed (6.53 60), and elite arm from the outfield (96 MPH) and above-average exit velos (up to 88 MPH). All that talent culminated in a strong performance in-game that included leaving the yard in a Major League stadium with a wood bat. It doesn’t get a whole lot more impressive than that for a 17-year old.
Mack's spin -
This is the first ink I have on Harrison.
