9-9-21 - Prospects Live - 2022 MLB DRAFT - TOP 150 PROSPECTS - 

63 Austin Henry

Henry is the top of the class when it comes to spinning a baseball. His hammer breaking ball registers spin rates exceeding 3200 RPM in the mid-70s. The fastball has been up to 92 with riding action. Henry is primarily a two-pitch guy right now, though he's been working to develop a fading changeup. It's a longer arm-action with some effort, but a big body and long levers suggest a future rotation arm is certainly in the cards.

Austin Henry (SD) sitting 89-91 and missing bats with the FB at the top of the zone. Ripping off some hammer CBs, some of which are coming out 3200+ rpm spin

Fastball only hits 90, but it is the 3000-RMP hammer curve that humiliates batters.

8-22-21 - Perfect Game All-American Classic  @PGAllAmerican

 Andrew Dutkanych IV (IN) working 92-95 w/ explosive life out of the hand. Quick arm, physical kid, four pitch mix with hard SL @ 85-88, CB @ 77-78, & lands CH in low-80s

We have talked a lot about Dutkanych already this early mock season.

A real deal lock for a pick in either the first or second round

I have him on my board as the 8th RHP.

 8-22-21 -

 Mack -  We never see much ink being written about second basemen. Jace Jung is obviously number one here, but could you give us five other second basemen to keep an eye on?

 

Joe - Surely. Robert Moore at Arkansas, Joe Lampe at Arizona State, Brooks Carlson at Samford, Jacob Blas at Arizona and Jared Poland at Louisville

Plays both second and third, though Joe lists him at second.

Thus, he now is my 5th 2Bman. 

 

8-16-21 - Prospects Live - Pacific Northwest Prospects - 

HUNTER HYATT 

Right-Handed Pitcher 

Bellevue High School (Clyde Hill, Washington) 

Hyatt is a long, lanky lefty with tons of funk and deception coming from a higher three-quarter arm slot. The fastball sits 88-90 with arm-side run. The changeup is his best secondary with hard tumbling action in the low-80s. He's got a slow, loopy breaking ball in the low-70s that he uses almost exclusively against lefty bats. This is a live, athletic, quick arm, though scouts are split on the sustainability of the arm action itself.

8-5-21 - Prospects Live  

Easton Swofford 

If there’s one thing you need to know about Easton Swofford, it’s that the kid just hits. Swofford garnered two hits, both singles in the final game, but also showcased a solid approach at the plate throughout the event. It’s a hit-over-power approach for Swofford, with an ability to spray the ball to all fields. He’s got a twitchy profile and has plenty of athleticism and projection to his frame, standing in at 5’10”, 165 pounds. During workouts, Swofford notched a 6.71 60 and showcased an arm up to 89 MPH in the infield. He’s a solid defender that can play both middle infield positions, though he’s also played some outfield in the past, too. The Arkansas commit looks to be a fun follow in this cycle, especially if he fills out his frame a bit more.

The only other info I have on Swofford is that Fangraphs ranks him as the 148th draft prospect.

I simply don't have enough info on him yet to rank or board him.
