Tom Brennan: Lindor MVP, Peterson Ace of Staff?

MVP?

2 HRs, including a slam, by Lindor.

MVP?

David Peterson 8-1.

Ace of staff?

Dedniel rocked it, too.

Is he the Ace of the Pen? Perhaps.

Lastly, twin one hitters in Syracuse 1-0 win. Throwing the first dominant 4.2 IP was Tylor Megill. Draw your own conclusions, but my guess is he replaces Blackburn.  Remember that if that ball had missed Blackburn’s pitching hand and rocketed into CF, he would have been at 2 innings thrown, 11 hits allowed. Ugliness.

Super game last night but of course Q today ugh .....hey can Bartolo still pitch?. So much matters on who is the next day's starter but look we've had a hellava run playoffs or not and a good learning lesson for those who will be here next year. Now if only Alvy would return to form.........

An ace is a pitcher that has exhibited over time that he is the best of his staff. Right now, the ace is injured. If he comes back, he goes right back to his spot. Also, an ace needs to be strong in all areas. To have a high walk rate is to constantly be toeing the danger zone. That’s not an ace.
