Henry Owens:
7-2 from: - link - Henry Owens outdueled Phillip Pfeifer leading the Blue past the Red 1-0 Thursday afternoon at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, N.C. Owens (1-0) retired nine of the last ten batters he faced to improve the Blue team to 2-1 in the 18U Trials. Pfeifer (0-1) was equally as strong for the Red squad, allowing one run on four hits with six strikeouts. Owens fanned five and allowed just one hit to lead the Blue. The dueling left-handers each did not issue a walk in their four-inning outings.
Courtney Hawkins:
6-27 from: - link - Day two at TOS - RHP, Courtney Hawkins, 2012, CC Texas, 6'1 205, max effort arm, rather loose, seems to push up hill, was 86-88, most straight and spinner breaking ball, easy to read, in pre-game showed pop in his bat, might be best to take a position in OF and swing away. Has 2 years left.
Danny Hultzen:
7-1 from: - link - Virginia left-hander Danny Hultzen was named ACC pitcher of the Year after going 11-1 with a 2.11 ERA. THough baring a slight frame, Hultzen throws from a mid-3/4 arm slot with whippy action that offers plus movement on his 92-94 mph fastball.
7-1 from: - http://www.mlbbonusbaby.com/2010/6/30/1544396/pats-first-2011-top-50#storyjump – Pat Hickey Mock Draft – 20. Danny Hultzen, LHP, Virginia
Daniel Camerena:
6-27 from: - link - Day two at TOS - CF, Daniel Camarena, 6'0 185, L/L, love his approach to the game and willingness to listen, showed solid OF arm, running speed right at ave on the way, 4.3 from left side, also showed bat speed with occ pop to alleys, not a HR guy. Worse case scenario he plays 3 years in college and gets a chance at the next level. Cathedral Cath., Bonita CA.
7-1 from: - http://www.mlbbonusbaby.com/2010/6/30/1544396/pats-first-2011-top-50#storyjump – Pat Hickey Mock Draft – 31. Daniel Camarena, LHP, Cathedral Catholic HS (Calif.)
Preston Tucker:
7-1 from: - link - Florida first baseman Preston Tucker has a funky stance and swing, but he makes consistent contact. He hit .331 with 11 homers and 49 RBI this season, but his 17 doubles portends of more power to come.
