7/2/10

2011 DRAFT: - Jackie Bradley Jr., Nick Burdi, Taylor Jungmann, Deion Williams... and Matt Purke

Jackie Bradley Jr.

7-1 from: - link  - The College World Series showcased the talents of South Carolina outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr., who displayed game-changing ability at the plate and in centerfield. The tournament Most Outstanding Player has surprising pop for a smaller guy, and he isn't necessarily a burner, but he has solid above-average skills across the board.

7-1 from: - http://www.mlbbonusbaby.com/2010/6/30/1544396/pats-first-2011-top-50#storyjump  – Pat Hickey Mock Draft – 7. Jackie Bradley Jr., OF, South Carolina

Nick Burdi:

6-27 from: - link   - Day two at TOS - RHP, Nick Burdi, 6'3 185, one of the best arms I saw on the day and in the tourney thus far, topped a few at 93, live fb, runs in well on rhh with sink, also hard slider with some downward tilt that had the bite to be effective when he was on top of the release point. Gamer too, kept runners on bases at bay. From Illinois, not in same league at this point to Folty, but he has to be seen in 2011.

Taylor Jungmann:

7-1 from: - link  - In Texas, Longhorns right-hander Taylor Jungmann was the ace of the nation's best pitching staff--as a sophomore. Jungmann's mid-90s fastball and hellish slider will have him atop many mock drafts....Rice third baseman Anthony Rendon was named the Rawlings College Player of the Year after hitting .379 with 26 home runs and 89 RBI. He could be the No. 1 pick of the draft....

7-1 from: - http://sullydraft.blogspot.com/  – 2011 Mock Draft – 5. Taylor Jungmann- RHP, Texas

Deion Williams:

6-27 from: - link  - Day two at TOS - SS, Deion Williams, 6'3 170 R/R did not take the field in game 2, but showed good actions at 2b and at SS, took grounders at 2b with Drake Roberts in pre-game. Also has some pop in his bat, singles type hitter and better on the way runner. Seems he's grown up instead of out this year, he needs to add some strength and may be best to go 4 year route. Redan HS, Georgia.

Matt Purke:

7-1 from: - link  - TCU left-hander Matt Purke will be a draft eligible sophomore and showed how dominating he can be during the College World Series and went an unbelievable 16-0 witha 3.02 ERA this season. He struck out 142 men in 116.1 innings pitched....Oswasso (Texas) High School is one of the most successful prep programs in the nation. No wonder they crank out guys like right-hander Dylan Bundy. The 6-1, 200-pounder reminds some of Marantha (Calif.) High school right-hander Dylan Covey, who was taken No. 14 overall by the Milwaukee Brewers.

7-1 from: - http://www.mlbbonusbaby.com/2010/6/30/1544396/pats-first-2011-top-50#storyjump  – Pat Hickey Mock Draft – 3. Matt Purke, LHP, Texas Christian
