LAST GAME: Binghamton hit a season-high four homers but

still managed to fall 8-6 to New Hampshire Sunday afternoon

at NYSEG Stadium. After three scoreless innings, starter Mark

Cohoon hit a wall in the fourth and did not make it out of the

frame. The lefty permitted five runs on six hits over 3.2 innings

to drop his first game since joining the B-Mets. Cohoon

left in a 4-2 hole and handed the ball to Roy Merritt, who

walked four straight hitters before being yanked, but the damage

was done, a six-run fourth. Binghamton never recovered

from the blow as the Fisher Cats added timely runs to answer

the B-Mets run-scoring the rest of the way. Marshall Hubbard

got Binghamton within two with a two-run homer to right in the

fifth off starter B.J. LaMura. The B-Mets trimmed the lead to

one in the seventh with a two-run rally, but Raul Reyes hit into

an inning-ending double play with the bases loaded to thwart

the threat. LaMura picked up the win despite allowing four

runs over five innings. Tim Collins closed it out for his ninth

save in 10 chances with a 1-2-3 ninth inning.

STARTING PITCHING MATCHUP: RHP Chris Schwinden will

make his ninth turn through the Binghamton rotation this

afternoon. He was roughed up for three runs on 10 hits over

4.2 innings in his last start, July 7 at Altoona, but did not factor

in the decision. Schwinden is 4-5 with a 4.65 ERA over

50.1 innings. He was named a 2010 Florida State League Mid

-Season All-Star after his promotion to Double-A. Schwinden

opened the year with St. Lucie (High-A) and went 3-0 with a

1.83 ERA over 34.1 innings. He spent most of 2009 with

Savannah (Low-A) where he was 9-6 with a 3.28 ERA over

115.1 innings. Schwinden was the Mets’ 22nd round selection

in the June 2008 draft out of Fresno Pacific University.

RHP Randy Boone will make the start for the Fisher Cats in

the series finale this afternoon. He has lost back-to-back

starts, including his last go-around July 7 at Portland when he

hurled four innings and allowed five runs (three earned) on

seven hits. Boone is 2-4 with a 3.67 ERA over 61.1 innings.

He made 23 starts for the Fisher Cats in 2009 and tallied a 9-

8 mark with a 3.70 ERA in 129 innings. He was drafted by

Toronto in the June 2007 draft out of the University of Texas

in the seventh round
