LAST GAME: New Hampshire tallied early behind starter Kyle

Drabek with two in the first off Binghamton’s Eric Niesen and

put the game away with a seven-run sixth inning to knock off

the B-Mets 10-2 at NYSEG Stadium Friday night. Niesen settled

in after the two-run first and worked 4.2 innings, allowing

two runs on five hits with four walks to take the loss. Drabek

hurled six, shutout innings, limiting Binghamton to five hits

while striking out five for his ninth win. The Fisher Cats struck

the crippling blow in the sixth, battering Scott Shaw for seven

runs, including homers from Brian Jeroloman and Shawn

Bowman. Kirk Nieuwenhuis managed a pair of hits out of the

top spot in the order to extend his season-long hitting streak

to seven games and D.J. Wabick ripped three hits, including a

pair of doubles.

STARTING PITCHING MATCHUP: LHP Mike Antonini will make

his team-leading 18th start of the season tonight for the BMets.

Despite hurling his second straight quality start, the lefthander

dropped his seventh game at Altoona July 5 after

tossing six innings of three-run work with a career-high nine

strikeouts. On the year, Antonini is 5-7 with a 4.08 ERA over

99.1 innings. He leads the league in fewest walks per nine

innings with a 1.54 ratio and is fourth in WHIP (1.12). Antonini

went 7-5 with a 5.32 ERA over 25 appearances spanning 115

innings last year with Binghamton. He was the Mets’ 18thround

choice in the June 2007 draft out of Georgia College &

State University.

RHP Zach Stewart will make his 17th start of the year for the

Fisher Cats tonight. He has won three consecutive starts including

his last, July 5 at Portland, when he hurled seven

innings and allowed three runs (two earned) on eight hits.

Stewart is 7-2 with a 4.38 ERA over 88.1 innings. The righty

went 2-1 with a 6.02 ERA over his first nine starts (43.1 IP) in

April and May, but since he is 5-1 with a 2.80 ERA in seven

starts (45 IP). The former third-round pick of the Reds in 2008

out of Texas Tech was traded to Toronto along with Edwin

Encarnacion and Josh Roenicke for Scott Rolen last season.
