The Cyclones held off a late-inning rally to defeat the State College Spikes on Friday night by a score of 4-2, in what started out as a pitchers' duel. The win was the second in a row for Brooklyn, and improves the team's record to 12-9, and 8-2 at MCU park.

 
. In the seventh inning, Nick Carr relieved Almonte with the tying run on second base, and got a key strikeout to end the inning, and end the Spikes' rally. Johan Figuereo tossed a scoreless eighth inning, before allowing two runs in the ninth on one hit and three walks. Daniel Carela came on in the ninth to record the final two outs and earn his first save of the season.



The Cyclones offense laid dormant early in the game, and did not record a hit until the fifth inning. However, the team finished the night with four runs on eight hits. 2B J.B. Brown  put the Cyclones on the board with an RBI in the fifth inning, and went 1-for-3. SS Rylan Sandoval continued his success at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI. DH Joe Bonfe also checked in with two hits, going 2-for-3 with a run, bringing his season average up to .361. 3B James Schroeder, C Juan Centeno, and RF Cory Vaughn rounded out the offense with one hit apiece. Vaughn also added his 17th RBI of the year. CF Darrell Ceciliani did not have a hit in the game, but reached on a walk and stole his team-leading eigth base.
