Greeville 8, Savannah 3

from press release

Ronald Bermudez hit two home runs, and along with Jeremy Hazelbaker, set the tone for Greenville’s offense and led the Drive to an 8-3 victory over the Savannah Sand Gnats.

Hazelbaker finished with three hits, just a double shy of the cycle. He set the table early in the game, hitting a single in the first Drive at-bat of the game. He then stole second, tallying his franchise-record 34th stolen base of the season.

Three batters later, Ronald Bermudez hit his first home run to drive in Hazelbaker and give the Drive a quick 2-0 lead off of Sand Gnats (45-34, 3-6) starter Darin Gorski (2-4).

Savannah finally got to Drive starter Kendal Volz (5-2) in the fourth inning, scoring two runs on RBI groundouts. Savannah added another run in the fifth on an RBI double by Pedro Zapata.
