Cutnapaste: - Frenchy, Mets Rotation Vs. Philly, Jason Bay, Swan on Mets, and Bob Aspromonte

Frenchy:

Five minutes in — and several laughs later — one thing about Jeff Francoeur became perfectly clear: He does not lack personality, enthusiasm or (most important) hope about the future. “I don’t look at this as a one-year thing, and I told Dayton that today,” said Francoeur, a 26-year-old outfielder who signed a one-year, $2.5 million contract last week. “I don’t want to have a great year, say ‘see ya’ and go play somewhere else. - kansascity

 Mets Rotation Vs. Philly:

When your chief competition has a rotation that is light years ahead of yours, it makes sense to look further up the road. The Mets’ top four healthy starters — Mike Pelfrey, R.A. Dickey, Jon Niese and Dillon Gee — have a combined record of 89-92. Roy Halladay, Lee, Cole Hamels and Roy Oswalt are a masterful 481-275. - nypost.

Michael G. Baron
 Jason Bay:

The headaches stopped by the last week of the regular season, Jason Bay figures. His realization was gradual. In the weeks and months after his mid-July concussion, Bay grew accustomed to awaking with a dull pain in his head. “It wasn’t a lot of the vertigo and the dizziness and the nausea,” Bay said at the Mets’ holiday party Tuesday at Citi Field. “It was just a low-grade headache.” - nj.com

Swan on Mets:

Under the new regime, I have confidence that the Mets will soon become a place where stars want to play and that Sandy Alderson and company will spend money, but do so wisely. However, I still expect that the Mets, like just about every other team, will ultimately have to outbid other clubs to get the players they want. But it's hard to imagine players taking less money to join the Mets. - networkedblogs

Bob Aspromonte:

Infielder, Los Angeles Dodgers - Aspromonte was a 23-year-old who didn’t project to deliver much power, but in every other way he was a slick prospect: a contact-oriented line drive hitter with sure infield hands and a strong arm. He was not only the best young infielder, but very likely the best young ballplayer at any position available in the draft. Our Mets will snap him up right away.  hardballtimes
