Mack Draft: - Kolton Wong, WKU, Garrett Wittels, Preston Tucker, and Michael Reed

Kolton Wong: - He started 2010 much like he ended his college season in 2009, upping his batting average to .357 while belting 7 HR and 40 RBi. While his power numbers were down slightly, he got on base more often by improving his walk total from 25 to 36. Wong spent a third of the year leading off, but ended up solidifying a role in the 3 spot. He stole 19 bases in 2010, up from 10 the year before. Was named WAC Tournament MVP as he went 10-18 with 7 RBI and 10 runs scored, while not striking out over the entire tournament. The WAC Champs went on to the Tempe Regional, where they advanced to the Regional Final out of the Losers’ bracket and fell to Arizona State in Game 6. The awards poured in again for Wong as he was named First-Team All WAC yet again. - http://www.collegebaseballdaily.com/2010/12/29/kolten-wong-hawaii-top-100-countdow/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+CollegeBaseballDaily+%28College+Baseball+Daily%29&utm_content=Twitter

WKU: - The returning candidates: Rising junior Logan Robbins started six games at second base for WKU in 2010, but spent the majority of the season as the team’s starting shortstop. Rising sophomore Blake Crabtree played all over the diamond for the Hilltoppers in 2010, including 12 starts at second base. Crabtree started the final seven games of the 2010 season at third base. Newcomers to watch: Junior-college transfer Ivan Hartle was named the Easton NJCAA Division I Baseball Defensive Player of the Year in 2010 while playing mostly second base for Iowa Western Community College. Head coach Chris Finwood noted freshmen infielders Scott Wilcox and Jordan Cessna as newcomers who had stood out during fall practice. - http://blugrassbaseball.com/

Garrett Wittels:- Florida International baseball player Garrett Wittels has been arrested in the Bahamas and charged with the rape of two 17-year-old girls. The alleged incident happened at the Atlantis Hotel and Resort and Casino on Paradise Island last week. Wittels gained fame during the 2010 college baseball season by hitting safely in 56 straight games. It’s the second longest Division I hitting streak of all time. Robin Ventura’s 58-game streak is the NCAA DI record. FIU’s first three games of the 2010 season are scheduled to be televised by the ESPN family of networks as he attempts to break the mark. - http://collegebaseball360.com/2010/12/27/garrett-wittels-charged-with-rape

Preston Tucker: - College Baseball Daily continues our countdown to the start of the 2011 College Baseball season by checking in on the Top 100 Players in the country. We will be providing one player per day until we reach number 1. We continue the list today with number 27 Florida junior first baseman Preston Tucker. He is from Tampa Florida and attended Plant High School. He had an outstanding senior season at Plant High School which saw him hit .468 with 46 runs batted in and nine home runs. He was named honorable mention Louisville Slugger All-American when he earned first-team all-state in Class 5A for the second season. During his junior season, he was even better with a .561 average with a school-record 51 runs batted in, 34 runs, nine homers, nine doubles and three triples. He won Hillsborough County’s Triple Crown and named to The Tampa Tribune All-Hillsborough County first-team and was a first-team all-state selection. - http://www.collegebaseballdaily.com/

Michael Reed  - of/rhp - Leander HS, Cedar Park, Texas - Reed shows average footspeed both in the outfield and on the bases, though a solid first step helps that to play-up some on the defensive side. He has a compact build, capable of producing solid hard contact, with a chance for some homerun pop as he refines his approach. He is a good athlete who finished 9th overall in the SPARQ testing at the event. On the mound, Reed threw almost all fastballs, sitting in the 86-89 mph range with decent command. His curve showed little bite. http://diamondscapescouting.com/articles_2010acg_wraps_part1_11162010.html
