Ft. Myers 9, St. Lucie 5

The St. Lucie Mets returned home to Digital Domain Park after a 3-2 road trip to kick off a four-game series with the Ft. Myers Miracle. St. Lucie could not hold off a solid Miracle offense dropping the first game of the series by a score of 9-5.



The Miracle jumped out to an early 6-0 lead and never looked back. St. Lucie got on the board in the bottom of the third inning plating three runs keyed by a two-run single by Juan Lagares. The Mets cut the lead to 6-3 on an RBI double by Stefan Welch. St. Lucie would get two more runs in the eighth inning to make it a 7-5 game but that is as close as they would get. The Miracle scored twice more in the ninth inning to go ahead 9-5 which ended up being the final.



Scott Moviel got the loss lasting only three inning allowing six runs on eight hits. The FSL’s leading hitter Juan Lagares had one hit for the Mets while driving in a pair and scoring once. Pedro Zapata chipped in with two hits a run scored and an RBI in the loss.
