Good old Sandy Alderson. ......guess he's always on the lookout for the next EY jr and marlon byrd type guy.....will he be the 2014 Colin Cowgill?

You mean the off=season, of course. LOL

In all seriousness, although this is really a very minor minor league signing, it could be a smart move. He will compete for a bench spot in ST, having put in time at 6 of the 8 positions. (only C and CF are missing from his resume) He is a high OBP guy who can steal bases. (35 SB in 2011 with an 87.5% success rate and 24 SB in 487 PAs this year with an incredible 96% success rate) And although he is no big slugger, he isn't a Punch and Judy hitter either. He probably winds up in Las Vegas, but he just might make the team with a strong spring.

This is a 40-man loss and you have to judge this against someone like Jamie Hoffman... if you do this, it's a Mets win
