It’s raining former All Stars…yesterday it was Jose Reyes
and today word is that Omar Infante has been designated for assignment by the
World Champion Kansas City Royals. His
numbers don’t suggest he’s anything special.
In his first year with KC he slashed .252/6/66 with 9 SBs. It’s been downhill since then. They’ll be swallowing his 2016 and 2017
salary but aside from less baggage, I can’t see he’d be a better pickup than
Reyes.

Nope on Omar, yep on Reyes.
But Gourriel might be better - Cespedes a good friend and says he is best player out of Cuba right now and a 5 tool guy - and a 3B who can move around.
Want to take a shot at writing him up, Reese?
Already did in the second to the last paragraph here earlier this month:

Thanks, Reese. I looked at his #'s, and his last year was unprecedented in baseball history: in Cuba, he got up 224 times - his line?
.500/.589/.874.
He hit FIVE FRIGGIN' HUNDRED. NOT A TYPO.
Not interested in either of the scrap heat pair, unless Infante would take a MnL deal and have to EARN a callup.
Both are good examples of the risks of long-term contracts and I'm glad we're not the team paying to dump them. It turns out that Jose did us a HUGE favor by jumping to Miami before hif Ferrari turned into a rusting Yugo.
