Just saw a report that Seth Lugo is having surgery to remove a bone spur in his elbow. Won't begin throwing for six weeks and will start the season on the IL.

I was actually advocating a 5 year deal for Springer with a player opt out after 2 and/or 3. Give the player the incentive to play his butt off the first two years and perhaps try to get another 5 year deal at age 33. I like what LA did with Bauer, although the front end money still seems high, but I like front end loading it and paying less (far less in Bauer's case) if he doesn't take the opt out.
