Batting Order Disorder

I liked seeing Mets' Manager Luis Rojas changing up the batting lineup in today's game. McNeil sits and Pillar leads off. I commend this because you always have to put whatever may be best for the team first.

Two other suggestions.

1. Putting Lindor in the seven slot. Because it doesn't matter how much a player's contract is worth, it really is what is best for the team in that moment. Being placed in the seven hole can tend to help batters to relax more.

I just simply think that a player earns his batting lineup position, and it should always be this way no matter what. If a batter does well in the seven or eight spot, they get moved up. If he does well there, it's AMORE!

2. My somewhat illiterate suggestion for a batting lineup might go something like this. Maybe moving Lindor and Conforto down some, and Villar up, with Pillar continuing to lead off for now.

I really think that once Drew Smith crosses "the success threshold" that he will be truly an awesome starter. I always felt that way about him.
