Syracuse, NY - The Rochester Red Wings used a four-run seventh inning to beat the Syracuse Mets, 6-3, on Friday night at NBT Bank Stadium (Box Score). Adam Oller made his third Triple-A start for Syracuse, delivering five and a third innings, allowing one run on five hits, while walking two and striking out four. Thus far with the Mets, Oller has allowed just one run in sixteen and two-thirds innings pitched.

Rochester (43-54) struck first with a run in the top of the first inning. Andrew Stevenson hit a leadoff single, and then Keibert Ruiz flied out. After Jake Noll walked, Mike Ford flied out to right field for the second out. Donovan Casey then stepped in and singled, scoring Stevenson to put the Red Wings ahead, 1-0.

Syracuse (38-60) got on the board in the bottom of the third. Albert Almora Jr. flied, out but then Khalil Lee walked. Wilfredo Tovar followed with a single as Lee advanced to third base. The Mets then executed a double steal to score their first run, as Tovar stole second and Lee broke for home plate on the throw to second base and scored ahead of the return throw home to make it 1-1.

The Mets took the lead in the bottom of the fifth inning. Almora Jr. and Lee led off with singles, Lee's single moving Almora Jr. to third base. Tovar then hit a sacrifice fly to make it 2-1 Mets. With Lee at second base, David Thompson grounded out to third base, but Lee started to move to third on the throw to first, and Rochester first baseman Mike Ford's throw to third was errant and Lee came home to score to put Syracuse up two, 3-1.

Rochester, however, used a huge seventh inning to go ahead for good. Blake Swihart hit a leadoff triple off Yeizo Campos, but when Stevenson reached on a fielder's choice, Swihart was thrown out at home for the first out. Ruiz followed with a walk, and then Jake Noll followed with a three-run, go-ahead home run to put the Red Wings up 4-3. Ford then made it back-to-back homers to increase the lead to two, 5-3.

Rochester added to its lead in the ninth. Ford worked a leadoff walk, and then Casey struck out swinging. Banks then hit a double to right field as Ford moved to third base. Tom Hackimer came out of the bullpen to replace Roel Ramirez and got Dietrich to fly out for the second out. However, with Jecksson Flores batting, a wild pitch brought home Ford to make it 6-3 Red Wings.

In the bottom of the ninth, the Mets brought the tying run to the plate with two outs after Juan Loyo picked up his first Triple-A hit, and Lee walked. However, Wilfredo Tovar was retired by Aaron Barrett for the game's final out.

The Mets and Red Wings return to NBT Bank Stadium on Friday evening for the "Duel of the Dishes" as the Syracuse Salt Potatoes will take on the Rochester Plates. Syracuse right-hander Jesús Reyes will take the hill against Rochester right-hander Cade Cavalli, who will make his Triple-A debut. First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m.

Oller has pitched insanely well lately.

Who would you rather pitch for the Mets in September, Oller or Hill? I know my choice. Too bad they took away the 8/30 waiver trade deals - Mets could be a selling a plenty right now.
