10-14-22 - Cape Cod Top Prospect List - https://www.perfectgame.org/Articles/View.aspx?article=21362&s=03 -

No. 1 Prospect, 2021: Brock Wilken, 3B, Harwich (Wake Forest)

10-13-22 - Mazdak Darvari @darvari_mazdak

Mitch Jebb (‘23 Elig.) has one of the best speed-contact tools in college baseball. The Official CCBL All League selection slashed .356/.429/.919 on Cape and looks to be an early round pick in the 2023 MLB Draft.

10-7-22 - Pittsburgh Pirates: Way Too Early Look at the 2023 MLB Draft - https://rumbunter.com/2022/09/14/pittsburgh-pirates-early-look-2023-mlb-draft/ -

This year’s draft class is position player-heavy. Of FanGraphs’ top 10 ranked 2023 draft prospects, seven are position players, and only three are pitchers. Most are college players, but Walker Jenkins is the top high school player on FanGraphs’ list.

An outfielder from South Brunswick High School, Jenkins is praised for his mechanics, including his smooth swing, strong hands, and ability to spray the ball all over the field. Jenkins projects to have plus power, which should play up because of his ability to hit. He also is an above-average runner with a strong arm. His athleticism should keep him in center field. Jenkins is currently committed to North Carolina. Overall, Jenkins is a very well-rounded player.

10-5-22 - Jupiter Uncommitted Gems: Part 2 - https://www.perfectgame.org/Articles/View.aspx?article=21312&s=03 -

Jacob Fields, OF, Acworth, Ga.

Class of 2023 | PG Rank: 500

East Cobb Astros

Fields is a strong, athletic outfielder with arm strength and speed as a 6.65 runner who can play all three spots in the outfield. The arm strength and actions transfer to the bump where he runs the fastball into the high-80s with a clean arm stroke and feel for the zone. Fundamentally sound baseball player with skills on both sides of the ball.

Kevin Sim

San Diego

Sim has been a draft name going back to his days at Torrey Pines HS. He's continued to draw scouts' attention at the University of San Diego. Sim's carrying tool is big raw power with significant pull-side juice. He showcases a more mature approach in batting practice going line to line with a gap-oriented approach. He features an above average arm at third base, though he's only an average defender and that's actually regressed a tick as he's continued to add muscle and strength. Sim has at least a 50/50 chance of sticking at third base as long as his conditioning stays lean. He's got some similarities to Connor Joe, a Top 40 pick by the Pirates in 2014.

9-19-22 - Top 20 college prospects for '23 Draft -

11. Travis Honeyman, OF, Boston College

Honeyman has some of the best all-around tools in the college crop and the potential for upward mobility as scouts get a better look at him. He was a reserve as a freshman and missed time as a sophomore and again in the Cape Cod League with leg injuries, but he also has batted .364/.470/.653 with wood bats in two years of summer ball, including 11 homers and 18 steals in 54 games. He has the ability to hit for average and power, plus speed, solid center-field skills and average arm strength.

9. Chicago Cubs

Rhett Lowder, RHP, Wake Forest

The Cubbies went off the board with Oklahoma righty Cade Horton in 2022, their third college arm in the last four drafts. There’s a lot of good college arms in this class and Lowder may be the best of the lot. Up to 97 with a plus, maybe better, changeup. Lowder has creative ways to get batters of both handedness out. His slider is solid average, maybe a tick better right now, but he’s got a whippy, athletic operation on the mound and some evaluators think there’s more in the tank coming. Lowder would join a future rotation featuring Jordan Wicks, and Horton, a potential nasty three-headed monster, each of whom bring a different look and style to the bump.
