TRAVIS TAIJERON NAMED FSL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
PORT ST. LUCIE, FLA. — The Florida State League has announced that St. Lucie Mets outfielder Travis Taijeron was named the league’s Player of the Week for the period of April 29-May 5.
Taijeron batted .474 and had nine hits, including one home run and six doubles in six games. He had a .600 on-base percentage and .947 slugging percentage.
Taijeron, an 18th round selection out of Cal Poly Pomona in 2011, has hit safely in eight straight games. Taijeron, 24, is hitting .266 with two home runs and 11 RBIs in 29 games played .
