Las Vegas 7 - Reno 1

RENO, Nev.-Reno's offense suffered a slow start for the second-straight night on Wednesday, but the club was unable to make a comeback this time around, as the Aces fell 7-1 to the Las Vegas 51's at Cashman Field.

The Aces were blanked through the first six innings, mustering just two hits in the stretch, before Matt Davidson homered to lead off the seventh. Reno had runners on first and second with two outs in the eighth, but Juan Rivera flew out to end the threat.

Las Vegas put up a run in the first inning for the second-straight night, and peppered six more runs across the board in the victory.

At the dish for Reno, Davidson went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored.

Former Aces outfielder Collin Cowgill had another productive game against his old team, going 2-for-3 with a run scored as one of four Las Vegas batters to have a multi-hit effort. First baseman Josh Satin went 4-for-5 with four RBI.

RHP Zeke Spruill, who has not earned a win since his Triple-A debut on May 2, was charged with his second loss of the season for the Aces. Spruill gave up seven earned runs on 12 hits through 6.0 innings, while striking out four. Reno reliever Bo Schultz shutout the 51's over the final 2.0 innings of the game, allowing just three hits and striking out two.

RHP Carlos Torres dealt a quality start en route to his fourth win of the season for Las Vegas. Torres gave up just one earned run on three hits through 6.2 innings, while striking out seven.

Satin has four hits in one game and Ike Davis has about four hits in the month of May. Hmmn...

They would first have to take Gonzalez Germen off the 40-man and you know that's not going to happen :)
