Mets Defeat Bradenton 1-0
PORT ST. LUCIE FLA. — Angel Cuan pitched seven scoreless innings and three Mets pitchers combined on a two-hit shutout as the Mets defeated Bradenton 1-0 on Saturday.
Cuan pitched seven scoreless innings and allowed just two hits while striking out nine.
Jeurys Familia retired the side in order in the eighth with one strikeout and Scott Atchison pitched a 1-2-3 ninth inning with one strikeout to close the game. Familia and Atchison were both on major league rehab assignments.
Albert Cordero had a two-out, RBI single to right to score Dustin Lawley in the second.
The Mets will host the Bradenton Marauders on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. Matt Bowman is the scheduled starter for the Mets.
