Original starter Steven Matz allowed 1 R, 2 H, BB, 4 K, in 3.0 innings, prior to suspension.

Upon resumption of the game, Marcos Camerena (W, 1-0) pitched 5.0 innings and allowed 1 R on 1 H and 1 BB with 1 K. That’s a lot of 1’s there in win #1, Marcos. Good work.

Jayce Boyd: 2-5, 2 RBI, 2 R.

Kevin Plawecki: 2-5, 2 2B, 2 RBI.

Stefan Sabol: 4-4, HR, 2 RBI, 2 R.

Kannapolis (19-32) trims Savannah (31-22) 5-4 in 11 innings.

Starter Matthew Koch: 6.0 IP, 4 R, 8 H, 0 BB, 4 K.

Hunter Carnivale pitched 2 scoreless innings, 0 H, 1 BB, 3 K.

Paul Sewald: (L, 0-1) 2.1 IP, 1 R, 3 H, BB, K.

Note to Mgr. Luis Rojas and Pitching Coach Frankie V. – It might not have been a good idea to ask Sewald to pitch a third inning of relief after he had survived a stressful 9^th inning.

Jupiter (28-24) edges St Lucie (29-22) 4-3 in 10 innings.

Rainy Lara again was sharp, allowing 3 R, (1 ER) on 4 H, 0 BB, with 4 K in 8.0 innings.

Luis Mateo pitched a scoreless 9^th,, allowing 2 H.

Mateo was followed by Randy Fontanez, (L, 4-4) who gave up 1 R on 4 H in the 10^th inning, for the loss.

Travis Taijeron: 2-4, HR, 2 RBI, R.

Binghamton (31-23) bests Altoona (21-32) 6-4.

Cory Mazzoni had a fine outing, going 6.0 innings, allowing 4 R, (2 ER) on 4 H, BB, with 9 K.

Reliever Adam Kolarek (W, 2-1) pitched 2 perfect innings to earn the W.

Closer Jeff Walters (S, 13) pitched the 9^th, 0 R, 0 H, BB, 2 K, for his league leading 13^th save.

Cesar Puello: 2-4, 2 RBI, R.

Josh Rodriguez: 3-5, 3B, 2 RBI, R.

Darrell Ceciliani: 3-5, R. DC’s average (now .258) is slowly creeping up. In his last 10 games he is hitting .308.

Pitcher Cory Mazzoni was 2-2 at the plate, with a 2B, and a R.
