Mets Minor League Report – June 21

Tucson  (39-36) over Las Vegas (38-35) 5-2.
Starter Chris Schwinden allowed 5 ER, 9 H, (HR) BB, 4 K in 5.0 innings.
He was followed by Greg Peavy, who was perfect for 1 inning, and Armando Rodriguez, who allowed 0 R on 2 H and a BB, with 2 K, in 2.0 innings.
Brian Bixler: 2-4.
Ike Davis: 2-3, 2 HR, BB, 2 RBI, 2 R and 0 K.  Ike has his avg. up to .333 in Vegas, and has now hit 4 HR in his last 2 games.

Erie (38-33) tops Binghamton (44-28) 5-2.
Logan Verrett (L, 8-3) takes the loss: 7.2 IP, 5 R, 6 H, BB, 11 K.
Chase Hutchingson pitched the final 1.1 innings: 0 R, 0 H, 2 BB, 2 K.
Alonzo Harris: 2-2, RBI. 
Allan Dykstra: 2-3, 2B, BB.

St Lucie (39-30) raps Palm Beach (29-41) 5-3.
With 3 runs in the top of the 9th, St. Lucie comes from behind for the win.
Starter Angel Cuan: 3 R, 8 H, (2 HR) 0 BB, with 6 K in 6.1 IP.
Chase Bradford (W, 4-2) (1.2 IP, H, 0 BB, K) and T.J. Chism (S, 9) (1.0 IP, H, 0 BB) held the Cardinals scoreless the rest of the way.
Dustin Lawley: 2-3, HR, BB, RBI, 2 R.
Jayce Boyd: 3-4, RBI, R.
Kevin Plawecki: 1-4, 2B, RBI, R.

Lexington (1-1) beats Savannah (1-1) 6-2.
Matthew Koch (L, 5-3) was rocked for 4 R, 8 H, (HR) BB, 4 K in 6.0 innings.
Phillip Evans: 1-4, HR, 2 RBI, R.

Brooklyn (2-2) over Aberdeen (0-5) 4-2.
Starter, Carlos Valdez: 5.0 IP: 2 R, 8 H, BB, 2 K.
Valdez was followed by Akeel Morris (W, 1-0) 3.2 IP: 0 R, H, BB, 7 K, and John Mincone, (S, 2) who struck out the  only batter he faced, to end the game..
Patrick Biondi: 2-5, RBI, R.  CF Biondi also picked up an outfield assist, throwing out a runner at 3rd base.
Gavin Cecchini: 2-4.
L.J. Mazilli: 2-3, 2B, 2 RBI.
Anthony Chavez: 2-3, 2B, BB, 2 R.

Johnson City (2-0) blanks Kingsport (0-2) 5-0.
Starter Robert Whelan: (L, 0-1) 4 R, 0 ER, 4 H, BB, 6 K in 5.1 innings of work.
Highly touted SS prospect Ahmed Rosario went 2-4.

GCL Nationals (1-0) edge GCL Mets (0-1) 4-3.
Starter Hansel Robles: (L, 0-1) 4 R, 3 ER, 4 H, BB, 3 K in 4.2 innings of work.
Reliever Ramon Estevez pitched 3.1 scoreless innings: H, BB, 2 K.
RF Wuilmer Beccera, who the Mets obtained in the R.A. Dickey trade, went 3-4 with an RBI.
Highly regarded outfield prospect, Vicente Lupo, after an extremely successful 2012 in the DSL, went 0-4 with 3 K in his stateside debut.

DSL Mets1 (8-9) beat DSL Orioles2 (8-10) 5-2.
Starter Adrian Almeida (W, 2-1) pitched 5 shutout innings: 2 H, 2 BB, 2 K.
Euner Rodriguez: 1.0 IP, 0 R, 0 H, BB, K.
Aneury Olivo: (S, 1) 2.0 IP, 0 R, H, 0 BB, K.
Miguel Leal: 1-3, BB, R.
Luis Ortega: 1-3, HR, BB, RBI, R.

DSL Mets2 (10-8) edged by DSL Angels (11-7) 4-3.
Starter Jose Medina pitched 5 solid innings:  0 R, 1 H, 1 BB, 4 K.
The Mets, once again, could not hold onto a lead, when reliever Gabriel Feliz gave up 2 R on 4 H and a BB, and then Nabil Crismatt (BS, 3) (L, 1-1) allowed another 2 R on 3 H and a BB, to get the loss.
Santo Marte: 1-4, RBI, R.
