Draft 14 – Derek Fisher, Carlos Rodon, James Torres, Alex Jackson, Denz'l Chapman

Derek Fisher, OF, Virginia - Like Conforto, the 6’-3”, 210-pound left-hander had a sensational freshman season, hitting .288 with 11 doubles, eight triples, seven home runs and 50 RBI. He has started hot out of the gate for the Cavaliers, going 13-for-38 (.342) over the first 11 games. He has added a double, triple, two home runs and has knocked in 16 runs for undefeated Virginia. A great athlete, he also has an advanced approach at the plate, drawing seven walks to six strikeouts this year and has a .457 OBP. LINK

6-2-13 - Carlos Rodon has spent much of his sophomore year searching for the form that made him one of the best pitchers in the nation as a freshman. He’s found it when it matters most. Rodon pitched on Saturday like the country has come to expect, firing a two-hit shutout Saturday against William & Mary in the winners’ bracket game at the Raleigh Regional. North Carolina State needed every bit of Rodon’s dominance too, emerging with a 1-0 win against a tough Tribe squad as Rodon and his opposite number, John Farrell, traded zeroes deep into the night. 6-2-13 - Perfect Game USA ‏@PerfectGameUSA - 2014 RHP James Torres (NJ) showing a 90 mph FB and nice breaking ball at the Sunshine Northeast!

6-6-13 - John (Minneapolis) - In 2014, Can Alex Jackson be the exception to the HS catcher history like Mauer was?  -  Keith Law - Maybe. I want to see him more, but was very impressed in a brief look last summer.

6-10-13   -  Todd Gold‏@TGold_PG - Just landed in Mn for Jr Natl & #PGNational can't wait for tomorrow. My predicted breakouts: 2015 OF Tyler Williams & 2014 OF Denz'l Chapman
