Draft 14 – Kevin Cron, Alex Jackson, Michael Cederoth, Tyler Kolek, Jonathan Ducoff

6-10-13 - Kevin Cron, 1B, Texas Christian - What a difference a year makes.  Cron was drafted in the 3rd round coming out of high school and a year ago, he looked like one of the top power bats who would be available in the 2014 draft.  Things could not have gone much worse for him in 2013, but the raw power makes him worth watching over the next year. 6-11-13 - 3. Alex Jackson, C, Rancho Bernardo HS, Calif.: A two-time participant in the Under Armour game, Jackson has some serious raw power from the right side and is a good leader with an accurate arm. LINK

6-13-13  -  5. Chicago Cubs — Michael Cederoth, RHP, San Diego State - He is 6‘-6“, 210 pounds and can touch 100 mph with his fastball. Shall I go on? He also adds a mid-80’s slider, as well as a mid-80’s change-up that is more of an out pitch. His command can be shaky at times as he is still learning how to be a pitcher instead of just running his overpowering fastball. Over 15 starts this year, he had a 4.25 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 109 K/48 BB over 95.1 Innings. If he works on his command the way Jonathan Gray did this year, as well as refine his off-speed stuff, he could challenge Beede and Rodon for the top pick. LINK

6-14-13 - Todd Gold‏@TGold_PG - 2014 RHP Tyler Kolek (Shepherd, TX) sat 92-95 with severe downhill leverage and + extension, flashed + SL in 1st IP of PGNational

6-15-13 - Player:  Jonathan Ducoff - Position:  SS/OF/2B - School:  Kingwood Park (TX) - Date of Birth:  6/20/1995 - Height/Weight:  6’1/185 - Bats/Throws:  R/R - 2014 Class:  High School Senior - Committed To:  Baylor - Scouting Report: Potential 5 tool player - Slightly open stance - Lifts front foot for trigger - Above average bat speed - Shows above average power potential - Quick swing with lift - Top recorded 60 time of 6.69 - Moves well in the infield - Strong arm - Interesting prospect who projects well LINK
