I've been
on high alert re Edwin Diaz but actually thought
he was impressive last night. On the attack with FB, and though the 0-2 HR

unfazed, and K'd Turner and Harper on 7 pitches, getting BH to chase sliders.

has a 15.12 K/9 in 2025 (leads all Mets minor league pitchers with at least 8

look at the sample size and say "it's only 16 innings". 16 innings *0* er, 2.00 FIP, 12.38 k/9

Mack ,
I enjoy the IN FOCUS columns. It is the best overall Met "wrap-up" on the internet. Keep em coming! We may not always comment, but we are certainly reading them.
Thank you DJ
I post them on times alloted to me. Mostly 5am. A couple, like this one, at 9am
Made room for the return of Tom which is well worth it
Reading is great

in general, I am not in favor of 'proposed' trades, generably looking upon them as mental masterbation; however, the Mets are in 'good' trouble. they have so many good relievers and starters, who are performing well in the majors, but out of options + on the IL but ready to come up soon, or are in the minors and banging on the ceiling, that they're going to be forced to thin the herd with trade(s). Mack, maybe you could get David Stern, or his fly-on-the-wall to let us know what they're thinking, that could really be interesting.
Hope all goes well for you at the Mayo.
The season is off to a great start including some minor leaguers playing well. I am concerned with Mendoza constantly pulling our starters in the sixth inning with not even 90 pitches yet. I think the high pitch count is 91 so far. This is the perfect recipe to just wear our bullpen. They all have been pitching great so far but will not last with over usage. Young is the only reliever that could easily be replaced, our starters should be able to get to 100 pitches this far into the season. Mendoza did the same thing last year and really ruined Garret. Let the pitchers PITCH!
Tons of great stuff…and a sweep. Dang. Edwin hurt?
I think the pen overuse yesterday was with an eye to a day off on Thursday. I also think they will inch up those pitch counts by another 5-10 pitches with warmer weather. But the formula is working.
Mack, hopefully the Mayo visit is fruitful and very positive.
