Binghamton –
The Binghamton Rumble Ponies (2-4) split
their doubleheader with the Hartford Yard Goats (5-2) on Friday at Mirabito
Stadium. Binghamton won the first game and Hartford came-from-behind to win the
second game.
Game One: Rumble Ponies 10, Yard Goats 1
(Final/7)
Right-hander Jack Wenninger (2-0)
made the start for Binghamton, which was his second start of the season and of
his Double-A career. Wenninger earned the victory and struck out a Double-A
career-high nine batters over five innings, while allowing one run on two hits
and one walk.
Game Two: Yard Goats 8, Rumble Ponies 4
(Final/7)
Binghamton grabbed a 2-0 lead in the first
inning on third baseman Nick Lorusso’s two-run home run, his
first homer of the season.
In the fifth inning, Jett Williams scored
when right-hander Victor Juarez (1-0) balked, which made it 3-0. Lorusso
followed with an RBI fielder’s choice that made it 4-0. Lorusso tied his career
high with three runs batted in.
Left-hander Felipe De La Cruz struck
out six batters over 3.1 scoreless frames, and stranded the bases loaded in the
second inning. Right-hander Douglas Orellana struck
out five batters over 2.2 perfect frames in relief.

batted in, four runs scored, a walk, and a stolen base…Binghamton’s pitchers
combined to strike out 26 strikeouts and just four walks across the

games.
Brooklyn –
Friday night's game between the Brooklyn
Cyclones and Hudson Valley Renegades has been postponed due to expected rain
and fog in the Coney Island area. It will be made up as part of a doubleheader
on Saturday, April 12th starting at 1:00 PM. Gates will open at 12:30 PM.
St. Lucie –
The St. Lucie Mets rebounded from Thursday’s
tough loss to defeat the Lakeland Flying Tigers 4-3 on Friday night at Joker
Marchant Stadium.
The game was tied 3-3 in the ninth. Jesus Baez led
off the inning with a single. Baez alertly went first to third on a ground out
when the third base bag was left unoccupied. On the next pitch A.J. Ewing laced
a line drive sac fly to left field that scored Baez to give the Mets the 4-3
lead.
Reliever Christian Rodriguez was
hit by a comebacker to start the bottom of the ninth. The ball ricocheted out
to Colin
Houck at second and Houck was able to make the play. Hoss Brewer replaced
Rodriguez and retired the next two batters to end the game and earn his second
save.
The Mets lineup was bolstered by MLB
rehabbers Jeff McNeil (right oblique) and Francisco Alvarez (left
hamate bone). McNeil started a two-out rally in the third inning with a single.
Alvarez followed with a walk. That brought up Triple-A rehabber Drew Gilbert (hamstring),
who launched a three-run homer off Zach Lee to give the Mets a 3-1 lead. It was
the second game in a row with a homer for Gilbert.

Jack Wenninger remains one of those sneaky prospects you may not hear a lot
about until he's in the majors. I'm starting to put OF Eli
Serrano in that category too.
Mets play
a series at a minor league park. You had me at minor league park.
I'm
thinking Drew Gilbert should go ahead and leave
us now. His rehab work is done IMO.
The Eli Ankeney show is officially back in this his 2nd
appearance pitching for Low A St. Lucie Mets this milb season (missed 2024 to
TJS)
Struck
out all 3 hitters in the 4th inning. Topped 94.3 MPH on his FB which for the
lefty I'm pretty sure might be a pro career high.
Not to be
outdone the following inning Mets 2024 draft pick Frank
Elissalt struck out his 3 batters topping 96 MPH. Coaches told me to
keep on him this season.
If Mets P
prospect Douglas Orellana was able to
consistently throw this many strikes in an outing he's going to make it.
Mets Prospect Group @bkfan09
17 yr old
Alejandro Meza RHP from Mexico is up to 94mph at
the Mets Complex
Recently
signed IFA Pitcher Maykol Vasquez throwing at the DSL complex . I have heard a lot of
good things about Vasquez , can’t wait to see how he develops this season
Leandy Mella could be moving full time to the OF after missing a bunch of games to an
injury in 2024 . Mella got a $500K in the 24 Class. Mella struggled in his 1st
season in the DSL
Cuban John Valle Will
be finally making his pro debut in the FCL This Season after missing a good
amount of time with injury
Georwill Rodriguez is a super exciting
utility type prospect who can play multiple positions. Surprising pop
for a smaller size player.

Hard to believe the White Sox even have a slightly positive WAR when they are 3-10.
Gilbert sizzling. When will he go from Lucie to Syracuse.
Binghamton pitching fanned 26 in just 14 innings.
Wenninger is the boss man.
Jett took off after a long flight delay.
Great on McNeil and Alvarez. Replace Baty and Siri ASAP. I do like Siri running and fielding, though. I like Baty, too. I’d like him to leave.
Drew Gilbert in St Lucie is 6 for his last 11, with 2 HRs, a double, and 3 walks? Get him to Syracuse ASAP. The ice caps have melted there - he should be OK there now. We need him in Queens by May 1.
Gilbert -
Rehabs tend to end on Sunday
Then Monday travel day to the Artic
Jett
Neither game in CF
Baty -
As I said earlier, my hopes is Baty is DFAd and then part of a trade for an experienced outfielder
