from press release

Jeremy Hazelbaker singled home the winning run in the bottom of the ninth to give the Greenville Drive a 2-1 victory over the Savannah Sand Gnats (2-5/44-33) Wednesday night.

The Gnats, who trailed all game long, came back to tie the game at 1-1 in the top of the ninth. With two outs, C Dock Doyle snuck a single into right field driving home LF Nick Santomauro with the tying run.

Greenville (6-1/42-35) scored the game’s first run in the bottom of the first inning against Savannah starter Armando Rodriguez. Hazelbaker doubled to start the inning and scored on Ronald Bermudez’s single into left. Rodriguez recovered to put together one of his best outings of the year. He threw a season-high seven innings, and struck out a personal-best nine batters, while walking just one.

Santomauro and RF Cesar Puello each had two hits.
