on Friday night against the Rochester Red Wings

Triple-A Rookie is just the 5th Bison to accomplish the feat in 125-year history

Buffalo Bisons OF LUCAS DUDA has hit a home run in his fifth consecutive game for the Herd, becoming just the fifth Bisons player in the 125-year history of the team to accomplish the feat.

Duda hit a two-run home run in the third inning of Buffalo’s game against the Rochester Red Wings on Friday night at Coca-Cola Field. The blast, which came on a 1-2 pitch from Wings’ starter Anthony Swarzak, cleared the fence in right-centerfield to give Buffalo a 5-2 lead.

Duda becomes the first Bisons player to homer in five straight games since Andy Marte accomplished the feat, June 15(2)-19, 2006. Buffalo Baseball Hall of Famers Ollie Carnegie (1938), Carlos Garcia (1992) and Bill Selby (1998) also homered in five straight games during their Bisons’ career.

Duda hit a three-run home run on Monday in Charlotte and hit solo home runs on Tuesday and Wednesday against the Syracuse Chiefs at Coca-Cola Field. The Triple-A rookie then hit a solo home run in Thursday’s series-opener against Rochester before going deep again on Friday night.

Duda now has six home runs in his first 16 games since being promoted from Double-A Binghamton on June 14.
