Savannah 6, Asheville 2

from press release

1B Travis Ozga's bat and John Church's arm led the Savannah Sand Gnats to a 6-2 victory in Asheville Friday night. The first half champion Sand Gnats have now won three in a row, their best run in the second half. Ozga's two-run home run in the seventh inning broke a 1-1 tie while Church extended his scoreless innings streak to 21.2 innings before giving up an unearned run in the sixth inning.

Making his third start of the year, Church gave up just the one unearned run on six hits and three walks while striking out five Tourists. He lowered his ERA to 1.01 while improving to 5-0 this year. Church would lead the SAL in ERA, but is currently 32.2 innings shy of qualifying for the league leaderboard.

In the seventh inning, with the game tied 1-1, 3B Jefry Marte doubed and Ozga brought him home with his second home run as a Sand Gnat. In the two games against Asheville, Ozga is 4-for-9 with a home run and seven RBI. His is hitting .385/.432/.590 (AVG/OBP/SLG) in his 13 games as a Gnat.

Savannah added three runs in the top of the ninth for good measure in a rally Ozga began with a single to center field.

2B Alonzo Harris was 2-4 with a walk from the leadoff spot to extend his hitting streak to five games, his second-best streak of the year.
