The Herd has won four straight games for the third time this season. With last night’s 9-6 win, the Herd has the chance to collect the two-game sweep of the Red Wings this afternoon. After tomorrow’s off day, the Herd will travel to Pawtucket as they continue their season-long 10-game roadtrip. VS. THE WINGS: The Bisons are 8-5 against the Red Wings this season. Rochester won the first two games of the season series with the Herd winning eight of the next 11. Buffalo already has a two-game series sweep of Rochester this year as they won both games at Coca-Cola Field, July 14-15. ON THE BUMP: LHP MARK COHOON gets the ball for the 12th time this season at Triple-A. The 23-year old rookie did not earn a decision his last time out despite allowing just three runs in five innings. Cohoon was victorious at Frontier Field just over two weeks ago. The southpaw defeated the Red Wings on July 17 with seven innings of four run ball (seven strikeouts). WINNING: The Bisons have won four straight games for the third time this year. They also won four straight May 28(2)-30 and June 24-27. The Herd has not won five straight since reeling off seven straight wins, August 5-13, 2010. That stretch also included the last time the team swept two straight series, a four-game set against Columbus and a two-game series vs. Lehigh Valley. Mr. VP: INF VALENTINO PASCUCCI extended his hit streak to 13 games last night. The slugger has averaged .400 (20-50) with five doubles, three home runs and 13RBI since July 20. Pascucci (74RBI) hasfallen two RBI behind Gwinnett’s Stefan Gartrell (76) for the most RBI in the International League. BISONS BITS: OF MIKE BAXTER became the first Bisons player to record two triples in a game since OF Jason Cooper accomplished the feat on August 4, 2007 in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre....OF JESUS FELICIANO is one game shy of being just the 10th Bisons player to play 300 games in the team’s modern era...Josh Satin has hit in nine straight with a .389 (14-36) average. He can become the eighth different Bison with a 10+ game hit streak this season. From team press release
