Johan Santana played catch from 175 feet today. Terry Collins said he looked "great," hopefully will throw off mound by end of the week.
Johan Santana (shoulder) played long toss from a distance of 175 feet on
Monday in Mets camp.
Mets manager Terry Collins said the rehabbing left-hander
"looked great." Santana is expected to throw off a mound by the end of this week
and should only be a few steps behind the other starters in Mets camp when
spring training opens for pitchers and catchers in five days. He's aiming to
make around 25 starts in 2012.
