This isn't the worst propect list i've seen--One on another blog had Darin Gorski ranked ahead of Dominick Smith...
Surprised to see Plawecki ranked so high
Where are Matz and Puello?
Puello probably off list due to drug tag.
Plawecki being this high may not be positive... may speak to lack of quality bats in system
I wonder if this does anything to Puello's trade value...
I'm sure it does to at least half the teams.
I stick to my plan for 2014:
Keep the rotation firm (Wheeler, Niese, Gee, Mejia)
Sign an SP5 for 1-yr (Dice-K) to fill in until Synder and/or Montero
Trade Murphy in a package for a quality corner OF bat (Cuddyer)
Sign a FA shortstop (Drew)
Sign Buck as backup catcher
Put Flores on 2B regardless of his defensive problems
Promote Puello around the all-star break and start in the other corner OF slot
Post ASG lineup: Drew, Flores, Wright, Cuddyer, Davis, d'Arnaud, Puello, Lagares
What about Matz,Puello, the kid 2nd baseman we got from Pit.. Those 3 guys look like they have a better chance to reachthe majors then Nimo orCenninchi or rosario.
You know, looking at the "Best Tools" list and seeing Juan Centeno there as best defensive catcher (and the kid can put the ball in play albeit no power), I keep coming back to DiNapoli at 1B (with an occasional start a t C). Then I had this outrageous thought: Ike, Montero + ,,, for Mauer? Somebody spiked my coffee, I guess.
Matz is in the top 5. If other GMs were able to get their hands on any Mets Prospects Matz gets taken before anyone after Smith. No doubt. The only one on the list I would take before Matz is Syndergaard.
