Mea maxima culpa on Kirk and Cory - I am totally wrong - they both rock!

On the diamond in the rough Jairo Perez, I looked at his stuff and noticed a few quick things:

He is already going to be 26 in two weeks, so he cannot falter at all if he is going to make it to the majors.

.339 with 13 extra base hits is very nice. He is, though, allergic to walks with just 4 in 130 plate appearances.

Is he really only this height and weight? if so, he has 2 strikes against him already.

Jairo Alexander Perez Born: 06/10/1988

Height: 5' 10" Weight: 160

I'm off Friday night to see Wally and the 51s play the hometown Chihuahuas. No press pass this time -- just a group outing I arranged with 52 of my closest coworkers and friends. Funny how it just happened to fall on a day when LV was in town, huh? :)

Thomas - one swallow does not a Summer make, so I am guessing you don't really expect us to swallow your mea maxima culpa.

Regarding the mighty mite, Jairo Perez, I have him listed at 185 lbs. Take a look. http://www.baseball-reference.com/minors/player.cgi?id=perez-001jai Plenty of good major leaguers have been in that size range. See Jeff Kent. (taller, but 185) That said, he is kinda long in the tooth for St Lucie, so we need to see him perform in Bingo or LV before we even think of him in MLB terms. I have my doubts.

Good planning. Hope you see a great game.

Don't swallow too hard on that "culpa". It fades quickly! Jairo at 185 - much better weight, and 185 coincidentally is Mack's baseball IQ. Mine is far lower!
