OPEN THREAD - RHP Zach Lee

The Mets have signed 27-year old RHP Zach Lee to a minor league contract.

Lee was a first round draft pick (28th overall) for the Dodgers in 2010.

Last season, he went 8-1, 2.31 in 13 games (12 starts) in AA and 4-5, 5.02 in 13 starts for Tampa Bay's AAA affiliate.

Lee has always been a starter, so I slot him into the Syracuse rotation now consisting of he, Drew Gagnon, Mickey Jannis, Chris Flexen, and Kyle Dowdy.

Got a scouting report for us Reese?

Reese asked me to provide the scouting report: Zach sits at 102 MPH, with a hook Doc Gooden would die for. OK, I just woke up.

Why would the Dodgers give up on him ? Age ?

. 500 career in the minors, low K numbers, a warm body for Syracuse.

Mickey Jannis had a 2.19 ERA after the break at bing? Does he really look like he could knuckle up in the majors one day soon?
