3 Mets homers led the Mets over the Yanks in the first game of the Citi Field version of the Subway Series - Lucas Duda's 2nd inning homer tied the game at 1, Daniel Murphy's 6th inning dinger gave the Mets a 2-1 lead and Juan Uribe's 2-run shot in the 7th, put the Mets up 4-1. Eric Young Jr. who pinch ran for Murphy after he tripled in the 8th, scored on a wild pitch for the Mets final run.

NY Post: Steven Matz shuts down Yankees as Mets draw first blood. "Matz overcame early shakiness and fired six strong innings in the Mets’ 5-1 victory...the Mets’ magic number to clinch the NL East shrunk to eight, with the Nationals beating the Marlins...Matz, in his third start since returning from the disabled list, lasted six innings and allowed one earned run on seven hits with one walk and four strikeouts over 102 pitches."
