The Wilmer Flores Crying and Walk-Off Homer Game, the Cespedes 3-homer game and the games against Washington in August and September - they defined the Mets 2015 playoff run and this game was dramatic.
With ace Matt Harvey on the mound, the Mets fell behind 7-1 in the 6th after Yoenis Cespedes misplayed a bases loaded single that rolled to the deepest part of the outfield scoring 4 runs. Mets came right back in the 7th to tie the game as 12 Mets came to bat and all runs were scored with two outs. The Nationals pen imploded as they walked 4 - the last of which was a bases loaded walk to Lucas Duda which scored the tying run.
Kirk Nieunwenhuis played hero in the 8th with a pinch hit homer off Jonathan Papelbon. Tyler Clippard a scoreless 8th and Jeurys Familia a scoreless 9th secured the win.
Mets moved to 6 games up in 1st.
9/8/2015 Behind 7-1 in the seventh, the Mets score six two-out runs to tie the game. The following inning, Kirk Nieuwenhuis hits a pinch-hit home run to put New York ahead. Jeurys Familia secures the win after getting a 5-4-3 double play with the tying and winning runs on base. pic.twitter.com/PQhU3e0pVU

I would love to see some of the late 2015 mojo find its way to this year's team.
These games show what a pennant team looks like. 2025 Mets are now 0-60 when trailing after 8 innings.
