Date: 5-12-12
OF Vinnie
Rottino is activated, replacing Japan-bound 2B Bobby
Scales. No one could happier about this than Josh
Satin… what a great time this
would have been to promote Reese Havens… sigh… Satin
stays on first, Cucci is the DH, Oswaldo Navarro playing second… (I really
hope Satin plays every day at 1B… he would be an outstanding emergency Queens
1Bman)…
Mack - are the Bisons
miffed with the Scales thing?
Ben Wagner - Lost a good player/leader but I didn't detect any anger.
AA-Binghamton:
SS Sean Kazmar comes off the DL (RP Erik Turgeon paper move to Brooklyn) and starts today…
Darin Gorski on the mound… New Hampshire struck
first in the 3rd inning with a run scoring double by John Tolisano… then, they blew it open with four more
runs in the 4th… Gorski’s stat line:
4.0-IP, 10-H, 9-R, 9-ER, 5-K, 1-BB, 4.04… the true test will be how
Darin handles this when he gets back on the bump… easily the worst professional
outing of his young career… bright spots were Kevin
Mulvey (1.0, 0-H), Brad Holt (2.0, 0-H)…
don’t know what to make of Holt… he just doesn’t seem capable of getting past
this level… Reese Havens (.167) went 0-4… that’s
now .111 in last 10 games and 2-32.
Darin Gorski -
“There is only one way to go from here! Back to work in the
morning so we can be better next time.”
A+ - St. Lucie: -
Bradenton pitched a
winner… Gerrit Cole… As Gorski learned in Binghamton, today wasn’t
the day to be an “almost Mets pitching prospect”. SP Chase Hutchingson was,
in one word, wild… 3.0-IP, 1-H, 5-BB, 2-R…
Vaughn had a hit! Vaughn had a hit… when
did 2B Danny Muno become a home run hitter (5th
tonight)… Kyle Allen did worse: 3.0-IP, 5-H,
4-R)… just not a good night for the league’s top team… shit happens.
A – Savannah:
Another QS for Michael Fulmer: 5.0-IP, 4-H, 2-R, 7-K, 1-BB, 3.25…
27-K in 27.2-IP, with only 7-BB… this is quality pitching for a kid just out of
high school… CF Travis Taijeron hit his 8th
home run (another away game) of the season… Power check: Luis Nieve (.198), Aderlin
Rodriguez (.190), Charlie Thurber (.195),
Albert Cordero (.175), Greg
Pron (.160)… and that’s AFTER they went 4-19 on Saturday… wow… Jack
Leathersich (0.86) gave up a run… still, four more strikeouts in two innings
make it 31 in 21 innings.
