Okay, I’ve told
you that seven different guys should be picked first in the draft, but after
tonight, I’m back to LSU’s Kevin Gausman. Kevin
went all the way Friday in the 2-1 win over divisional rival Vanderbilt. Stat
line: 9.0-IP, 1-R, 5-H, 11-K, 1-BB. Pick this kid. Trust me.
There was no
better game tonight than Georgia-South Carolina. Two outstanding pitchers… Alex Wood (9.0-IP, 3-R, 6-K, 1-BB) and Michael Roth (7.0-IP, 0-R, 6-K, 5-BB). USC’s Matt Price mopped it up for his 8th save.
Outstanding game.
ESPN and the SEC
announced Friday that the LSU-South Carolina baseball game scheduled for
Saturday, May 19 will be televised live on ESPNU. Game time has been changed to
1 pm.
Reporters wrote
that Duke SP Marcus Stroman “struggled” Friday
night. Stat line was: 7.0-IP, 7-H, 2-R, 0-ER, 8-K, 2-BB… such a struggle…
A name you might
want to jot down… Louisville SP Justin Amlung…
Friday vs. St. John’s: 7.0-IP, 0-R, 3H, 6-K, 1-BB… season: 7-3, 1.99, 91-K, 90.1-IP. I talked to Justin after the
game and he commented on the team effort this year:
“We're right where we wanted to be at the start
of the season. Even though we have had
our ups and downs, all of our goals are still attainable. Now we just need to trust in everything we
have done to this point and continue to come out and play good baseball. We control our destiny in the Big East.”
