I am a fan of old school baseball... live umpires and pitching around the 8th hitter in the lineup.

I never wanted to see the DH in the NL
But If we do we put Cano there until we decide to buy him out. Then it’s Pete’s job for the rest of his career...
Pete is passable as a 1B but he is not good and I think people over look it for 50 hrs... (I would too) but with the DH he goes there and Dom plays 1b
The DH takes away the logic away from the game. The pitcher, where to bat him, let him hit or pinch hit for him in a critical part of the game. It is at least for me, baseball as it was meant to be.
Hate the DH. Want to see pitchers hit and bunt. Big problem is that pitchers hardly ever hit in the minors, so by the time they get to the Majors, they have even less of a clue how to handle the bat.
The Metsmirized arrival referenced in Jonks "Links" pretty much deflates all pro-DH arguments save one: playing the same game with different rules over the course of the season. I'm thinking if, say, there no 3-pt arc in E.Conf arenas.
Now of course that argument holds equally true for dropping the DH in the AL. I just don't see that happening and the rules should be the same. The Mets wouldn't particularly suffer and I'd still let deG bat.

Having the pitcher hit is part of the strategy of the game. I hate having strategy artificially removed (even if it would open up DH opportunities for JD Davis, Dom Smith and/or Yoenis Cespedes).
I pretty much agree with everyone else here. I hate the DH.
As an old guy one might think I oppose the DH but I don't. I have no interest in watching the pitcher hit and I really hate when the pitcher comes out of the game in the sixth inning because his spot came up in the line up and the bases were loaded. In my opinion baseball strategy is over-rated and I'd rather have an everyday player hitting for the pitcher instead. Sorry old school guys.

Put me down as someone who can't stand the DH. It's fake baseball, case closed. And the current Met pitchers can handles the stick a little.
I do not and never have liked the DH. I guess I can now call myself 'old-school'. Give the pitchers the opportunity in spring (or thru the year) to become better hitters/bunters. The best hitting pitching staffs can win some games over the teams that don't care. The art of bunting has become obsolete. That is a shame.
