Eli Serrano is a 2022 OF/1B with a 6-5 195 lb. frame from Fuquay Varina, NC who attends Pro5 Baseball Academy. Extra-large, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout. Ran a 6.77 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, moves well for size and shows consistent actions, longer arm action through the back working to a higher slot on throws, will continue to refine, shows arm strength and on line carry to the intended base with present accuracy. Left-handed hitter, begins with a wide base and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; coils into load, comes out of it well with plenty of quickness and balance. Longer path through the zone, shows strength at impact and generates line drive contact to all parts of the field. Sound bat speed through the zone, easy to project on the power long term, plenty of present launch with carry to pull side. Very good student. Verbal commitment to NC State. Selected to the 2021 Perfect Game All-American Classic.

Eli Serrano flashed a ton of pro potential with the Wolfpack. Now he'll get a chance to realize it, going in the fourth round of the 2024 to the New York Mets with the 111th overall pick.

Serrano immediately produced for NC State as a freshman, stepping in from the outfield to first base to get his bat in the lineup right away. The frosh slashed .292/.389/.470 in 2023, bopping seven home runs and 32 RBIs on his way to a spot on the ACC-Freshman Team.

The 6-foot-5 lefty moved to center field his sophomore, using his long stride to cover plenty of ground in the outfield and producing similar numbers at the plate. Serrano hit nine home runs and 39 RBIs with a .286/.383/.433 slash line.

Former Patriot High School standout Eli Serrano was selected Monday by the New York Mets in the fourth round of the Major League Baseball Amateur Draft.

Serrano, the son of former Patriot head baseball coach and Hylton graduate Sammy Serrano, spent his freshman and sophomore years at Patriot before transferring to the Pro5 Baseball Academy in Apex, N.C. and spending his final two high school seasons there.

Sammy Serrano was a second-round pick of the San Francisco Giants in the 1998 MLB Draft after starring at Stetson University. A highly-rated catcher, Sammy Serrano played four years in the Giants' organization before shoulder injuries ended his professional career.

Eli Serrano, a 6-foot-5, 201-pound infielder/outfielder, was rated the No. 205 prospect by Baseball America coming into the draft.

The sophomore helped lead North Carolina State to the College World Series this season.

Eli Serrano hit .286 this season with 56 runs scored and nine homers. He was one of four players to start all 61 games for the Wolfpack. He participated in the Major League Baseball Draft Combine June 19-23 at Chase Field in Phoenix.

Eli Serrano was the No. 111 overall selection in the 20-round, three-day draft that concludes Tuesday.

Mack –

Serrano looks like an under-slot pick that means we might be paying for someone else here…  news at eleven…

I don't understand how this can be an underslot pick when Serrano is only a sophomore. He could easily just stay in College next year and bet on himself to be a higher pick in next year's draft.
