3/18/10

3-18-10: - Mets 5, Florida 2

-Thursday night's lineup at Florida looked an awful lot like what the Mets will look like on opening day... the only exception might be that C Henry Blanco was only used because Oliver Perez pitched....

-Ollie got off to a shaky start... gave up three hits in the first inning while giving up one earned run... he gave up another run in the third and I began to realize that he had pitched nine innings so far this spring and only has one strikeout...

-The Mets regulars left the bats on the team bus... in fact, Ricky Nolasco pitched four perfect innings, with seven strikouts... Jason Bay finally stopped the madness, with a single in the fourth inning... Jeff Francoeur followed that with his first yard-ball of ST, and we had a ballgame going on...

-ex-Met Mike Lamb (.357) came in late in the game and singled...

-Here we go again... Jesus Feliciano was  hit by a line drive in the right leg... he tossed a few warm-up pitchers (and you know what warm-up pitches have exposed in the past), and was pulled immediately... no owrd on whether or not Joe Beimel was contacted...

-In the 8th, Fernando Martinez (a scorching .556) singled in David Wright for the 5th Mets run.

-Francisco Rodriquez did give up two hits, but pitched another scoreless inning, keeping his ST ERA at 0.00...

-Bay (.308) went long ball in the seventh and the Mets took a 4-2 lead, on only five hits.
