LAST GAME: The B-Mets six-game winning streak came to an

end with a 6-3 loss to the Altoona Curve Wednesday night.

Mike Antonini offered up a solid, seven inning start in which

he allowed three runs on five hits and struck out seven. However,

he was hung with the loss, his sixth, despite the quality

start. Justin Wilson outdueled him with six innings of two-run

work, limiting Binghamton to four hits with six strikeouts. Mike

Nickeas gave the B-Mets a 1-0 lead in the fourth with an RBI

single to left. Kirk Nieuwenhuis extended the lead to two with

his 10th homer of the season, a solo blast to right in the fifth.

However, Altoona responded in the sixth with three runs

against Antonini. The Curve pushed another three across in

the eighth against the bullpen, putting Binghamton in a 6-2

hole. The B-Mets rallied in the ninth, reaching with the first

three hitters, including a Josh Satin RBI single, but Tony Watson

and Diego Moreno nailed it down, striking out the final

three hitters of the game to seal the win.

STARTING PITCHING MATCHUP: LHP Mark Cohoon will make

his second Double-A start tonight. He was roughed up for five

runs on 11 hits over 5.2 innings, but picked up the win in his

last start June 26 at Akron. Cohoon opened the season with

Savannah (Low-A) and racked up a 7-1 mark and a measly

1.30 ERA over 13 starts (90.1 IP). His ERA paced the South

Atlantic League and his three shutouts are the most in professional

baseball. Cohoon was a New York-Penn League All-Star

last season with Brooklyn (SS-A) thanks to a 9-2 record and a

2.15 ERA over 92 innings. The Mets drafted him in the 12th

round of the June 2008 draft out of North Central Texas College.

RHP Casey Kelly is due for his 15th start of the season. He

was charged with five runs on six hits over five innings in his

last start, June 26 at New Britain, a no-decision. Kelly is 1-3

with a 5.05 ERA over 57 innings thus far in 2010. He worked

as both a starter and a shortstop last year in two stops between

Greenville (Low-A) and Salem (High-A). As a pitcher, he

was 7-5 with a 2.08 ERA in 17 starts spanning 95 innings.

Boston took him 30th overall in the 2008 draft out HS in

Sarasota, FL. He is considered the No.2 prospect in the Red

Sox system by Baseball America
