Cutnpaste: Charlie Thurber, Aderlin Rodriguez, Jesus Lugo, Brandon Nimmo, Darin Gorski

Charley Thurber:

8-8-11: - http://www.brooklyncyclones.com/news/topstories/index.html?article_id=1204  - CHARLEY THURBER- Selected in the 39th round out of the University of Tennessee, Thurber seems to be the steal of the draft. Since July 4th, the outfielder is hitting .315 (34-108) and has hit in 22 of 28 games. Always Mr. Clutch for the Cyclones, Charley is also hitting .359(14-39) with runners in scoring position.

Aderlin Rodriguez:

8-11-11: - http://metsmerizedonline.com/2011/08/baseball-americas-mets-top-10-list-prior-to-2011-where-are-they-now.html  - 3B – Aderlin Rodriguez: Terrible defense and a low batting average or lots of home runs and power potential? Aderlin has been sort of an an enigma is his brief pro career. He has been the typical all or nothing player. He bats in the low .200′s, but has the greatest power potential in the system. If he can not sure up his defense and find a way to get on base more, that power potential is going to go to waste. Started 2011: Low-A Currenlty: Low –A

Jesus Lugo

8-11-11: - http://www.dplbaseball.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=244:3-dpl-players-agree-to-terms-with-the-ny-mets&catid=1:latest-news  - RHP - March 31, 1994; 6'1, 175lb (Trainer - Miguel Delgado) - Jesus is a former SS with arm strength and projection, His 6'1 wiry body and easy arm action has helped him develop on the mound. During his conversion time in the DPL Lugo was a pleasant surprise showing pitch ability, movement in the strike zone at 88-91mph with a feel for off speed pitches. In May he was selected to the DPL All-Star game. The conversion has paid off as the New York Mets offered him the opportunity to develop within their organization.

Brandon Nimmo:

8-11-11: - http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20110811&content_id=23092002&vkey=news_nym&c_id=nym&partnerId=rss_nym  - Negotiations to sign first-round Draft pick Brandon Nimmo have entered the final week for the Mets, who remain confident they can ink their top selection. Though it was more than two months ago that the Mets chose Nimmo, a high school outfielder out of Cheyenne, Wyo., with the 13th overall pick in the Draft, they never anticipated signing him until much closer to Major League Baseball's Aug. 16 deadline. For comparison's sake, the Mets did not sign last year's top pick, right-handed pitcher Matt Harvey, until minutes before the deadline expired. General manager Sandy Alderson has maintained confidence throughout the process that signing Nimmo will not be an issue.

Darin Gorski:

8-12-11: - http://7traintoshea.com/?p=6386  - Gorski features a 90-93 mph fastball along with an average 12-6 curve ball and change-up. However, while he doesn’t posses the blow it by you ‘stuff’ such as fellow teammate Zack Wheeler, Gorski does the have the ability to throw strikes and mix speeds similar to current Met pitcher Dillon Gee. Down the road, I could see Dorski has a left-handed specialist out of the bullpen (opposing left-handed batters are hitting .188 against Gorski). But for now, I’m really interested to see if Gorski continue his success moving forward once promoted to Double-A Binghamton, since at the age of 23-year Gorski is considered to be too old for the Florida State League.
