Luis Rojas will join the New York Mets Major League coaching staff for the 2019 season, filling the new position of Quality Control Coach. In that capacity, Rojas will serve as a conduit between the Mets front office and the coaching staff.
Rojas served as the Binghamton Rumble Ponies manager for two seasons, compiling a record of 149-130 in his time in the Southern Tier. He guided the franchise to a postseason berth in his Double-A managerial debut season in 2017.
The New York Mets have yet to name a replacement for Rojas in Binghamton.

Luis is one of the nicest guys in baseball.

In the example in the above post, think about it a moment. The Mets add in four new bats, good ones too, in Cano, Puig, Ramos, and kid prospect Alonso. Four. That's pretty good since all four can hit homeruns. The young really good nucleus of McNeil, Rosario, Nimmo, and Conforto remains intact from 2018.
I like this but am obviously biased.
Mets get another Travis d'arnaud... C Mitch Ghelfi. Look alike.
Only an Opinion
I don't get why the Mets have to trade Noah Syndergaard.
They can sign either Wilson Ramos or Yasmani Grandal (off the free agent list) but for more money than either is probably worth, I agree. Instead of spending all the money on JT Realmuto and trading Noah, why don't they get a new left fielder in Yoenis Cespedes place instead, since Yo' may not be back at all in 2019 or very later on in the season. Mets add more homeruns but from left field instead of catcher. Then sign Ramos to catch or someone similar and more affordable than Realmuto.

Here's what I have heard.
Noah is staying a NY Met. The trade being discussed is an eight player trade between the Mets and Padres. Padres want a SS, two non-rookie starters, and a reliever.
Mets want a catcher, an outfielder for Cespedes loss, and if possible here a lefty starting pitcher.
I was wondering about this idea...
Mets send Gimenez, Lugo, Gsellman, and Wahl to San Diego for C Austin Allen, OF Josh Naylor, C Brett Nicholas, and lefty starter Logan Allen.
This is not a blockbuster type trade, but there is decent merit with this type of trade.
One last gripe on trading Noah
The Mets have nothing in their MiLB (anywhere until David Peterson) for starters right now. Dunn left.
Lugo, Gsellman, and Oswalt have not been brilliant in their 2018 starts nor consistent really. Lugo had one really good start, his first one in 2018. He's 29 years old. Matz is 27 and has had one good season as a Met, his first one. Management treats him like he's still a rookie. He's not.
Now after a Syndergaard possible trade, the Mets have realistically two starters, Jake and Zach. If one were to go down injured, they then would have one starter, plus whatever else they could get in return trade from San Diego. Tell me geniuses of the press, how the heck do you get to the Playoffs with that regardless of getting back a hitting catcher from the Pods?
A: You don't, unless the Mets sign sign scrub free agent. And even then, let's be real here for a moment too. It's a Terry Collins notion.
This notion of trading Syndergaard is to me a dangerous one.
