8-1-21 - Jon Heyman @JonHeyman
The expectation is Rocker will not return to Vandy and will instead work out on his own in anticipation of the 2022 draft. That would mirror the track of Luke Hochevar who was picked 40th in the 2005 draft, didn’t sign and spent the year working out. He was picked No. 1 in ‘06.
Mack’s spin -
I don’t think we will ever know who really is at fault here. The agent said it wasn’t them, the team says the same, my next door neighbor says no comment…
It also sis unclear right now where he will play next year, but it does seem like he is not gonna be a Vandy Boy in 2022.
What a mess.
Still, I immediately place him as my top RHP on the 2022 draft and easily one of the top five players. As well.

Jud Fabian announced via Twitter Saturday he will return for another season in Florida Ballpark. The Boston Red Sox drafted the Ocala, Florida, native 40th overall in the 2021 MLB Draft July 12, but the rising junior outfielder retained two years of eligibility and decided he wouldn’t leave for the professional ranks.
One of two unanimous preseason All-Americans for Baseball America and the site’s No. 5 prospect in the Preseason 150, Fabian started 59 games in center field for the Gators. He crushed 20 home runs, second-most in the SEC and ninth-most in the country.
Fabian’s batting average and on-base percentage slipped from .294 and .407 in 2020 down to .249 and .364, however. He struck out a team-high 79 times, 25 more than his next closest teammate. He failed to record a hit in 21 of his 59 games.

Frankly, I was quite shocked to read this when it came out. Sure, Fabian had an off season in 2021, but he still was going to sign for big bonus money from Boston.
I have to start new paper on him with this.
I had him as the 6th OF in the 2021 draft.
Right now, I slot him in as the 3rd in 2022.
7-27-21 - Prospect Love Top 100 2022 Prospects -
13. Jacob Berry
Third Base, LSU
Simply put, one of the best hitters in the 2022 class. A year removed from anchoring the Arizona Wildcats lineup, Berry transferred to LSU to follow Jay Johnson. Berry was not only arguably the best freshman in college baseball in 2021, you could make the argument he was one of the best players in the country regardless of age. He's a potential plus hitter with plus power. His optimized swing is allowing the power to play immediately. He's an physical, imposing specimin with power to all fields and enough speed to be given some credit on the basepaths. He's likely a third baseman at the next level, though some believe he'll have to shift to first base. The only thing holding Berry from potentially becoming a top ten pick would be some of the swing and miss in his game.
Mack’s spin -
2021 Arizona stat line - 63-G, 247-AB, .352/.439/.676, 17-HR, 70-RBI
Every once is a while some of these guys get by me. Berry is one of them.
Tremendous 2021 stat line, but would like to see him work on the 58 strikeouts.
I now have him as my 5th 3Bman.

Brandon Barriera, LHP, American Heritage HS (FL)
He sits between 92 and 94 the later he goes in games. I love his finishing slider, and he can top his heater out at 97 right now. He stands 6’1″ presently, but is still growing. He comes right at hitters and isn’t afraid to throw inside. And if you read my articles, you know I say that pitchers who aren’t afraid to throw inside have good success in the pros.
Mack’s spin -
There looks to be 5 great southpaws in this draft and, on my board, this is the fifth.
At worse, a mid-range 2nd round pick.

Cam Collier, the No. 3 prospect on Baseball America's rankings of the top 2023 players, is reclassifying to be eligible for the 2022 draft. Collier announced the news today on his Instagram account.
Collier, a 16-year-old infielder who has also spent time on the mound, was the premier offensive threat in the 2023 class. He's 6-foot-2, 210 pounds with a smooth, compact swing from the left side, good bat speed and easy power. He has consistently performed at a high level in games, both in terms of getting on base and hitting for power, often while playing against older competition. He has hit well against both lefties and righties, showing a mature approach at the plate for his age, with the pitch recognition and contact skills to regularly square up both fastballs and offspeed pitches.
A Louisville commit at Mount Paran Christian High in Kennesaw, Ga., Collier is a below-average runner with good instincts at third base and a strong arm.
Mack’s spin -
Wow. Big draft news here.
Collier immediately becomes the top 3B name on my board.
