- Justin Enercido Ramirez
- Born: 2/09/2005 in San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic, 6’3”, 190 lefty hitting outfielder.
- So, Ramirez, now 18, turns 19 just before spring training 2024.
He played in the DSL this year, and had a relatively quiet June and July at the plate.
August? Not quiet at all. Booming is more like it. Did this for 14 games:
.389/.468/.722.
I know little about him, but that August? Impressive. Very.
He did finish with 6 HRs and 33 RBIs in 202 at bats, which is solid.
- Jeremy Rodriguez
- Born: 7/04/2006 in Esperanza, Dominican Republic, 6’0”, 170 SS
Hey, dudes, I know we all appreciated Tommy Pham during his Mets tenure, but his trade brought in return this young (very) 17 year old SS.
In his first 13 games in a Mets uniform in the DSL, he was a staggering .422/.536/.711. Full stop. WOW!
With 7 steals, just 4 Ks, and 15 RBIs. Nice 13 games.
Utter madness, how good that is. The mind boggles, frankly.
Methinks we got us a steal.
Defense needs work, but he was 16 until 6 weeks ago, for Pete’s sake.
Season for both ended too soon.
BRING ON 2024 ALREADY!
Jose Butto pitched well against the AAAA Washington Nationals, too.
The bullpen for the Mets has been renamed - now known as:
STINK, INC.
Atlanta pen is 31-17, 3.51.
Mets pen is 22-29, 4.48.
Well, 2023 isn’t quite over for the top 4 squads…Luisangel Acuna hit his first 2 Met HRs in AA last night, and added another hit. Must have read my article’s where’s the power comments the other day (2 doubles in first 28 games) and got pissed…and that is A-OK with me.
Kevin Parada now has 2 AA HRs, both 3 run shots.
Schwartz? 2 more hits for the on base AA machine.
Stanley C cracked his 21st. Playing in Brooklyn. 14 on the road, 7 at home, naturally.
And Daniel Palka is doing his DJ Stewart imitation since returning to Syracuse, hitting 2 HRs last night, giving him 5 HRs in 8 Syracuse games, and 31 in 425 at bats for Syracuse in 2022 and 2023. Shame there is no room at the inn in Queens or elsewhere.
And Luke Voit left Syracuse after hitting 14 HRs in 129 at bats, and hasn’t played anywhere since. Shame.

Gary Sanchez, the slugger the Mets couldn’t wait to dump so they could recall cross-eyed Tomas Nido?
19 HRs in 234 at bats for Sanchez as a Padre. Let that resonate.
That’s OK, we have Oh No Narvaez instead.
He of the 1 HR, 6 RBIs in 96 at bats.

Nido? He has 4 HR, 12 RBIs since then…in Syracuse, in 131 at bats.
Who the heck makes these decisions?

Tom, let’s be fair: for a catcher, defense is first. Can you imagine Scherzer’s comments about Sanchez? I shudder. I’m happy for Sanchez and wanted him on the Mets, but I don’t know enough to throw stones.
Pham was a great decision. Backslaps to whoever thought of it. Helped the team now and for tomorrow.
How about Buck Showalter telling the whole world that he cares more about what the other clubs think than about allowing his team’s best third base prospect to grow? Had he cemented his status as an a-hole yet?
Texas Gus, I hear you. But I love offense. He could have fit somewhere.
Buck isa schmuck for not having his pitchers retaliate.
Happy they lost. This team needs good draft slot.

In Post: “Scherzer was lit up on Wednesday during a crucial meeting with the Astros and Justin Verlander as he yielded a season-worst seven runs on six hits, which included three home runs, as Houston rolled to a 12-3 win.
Among the three homers that Scherzer surrendered was a grand slam to Jose Abreu, which put the Astros up 7-1 in the top of the third before the Astros pulled away with a three-game sweep.
After the game, Scherzer told reporters that he was dealing with “an ailment,” that affected him on the mound.
“I couldn’t get all the way through the ball, couldn’t explode through the ball,” Scherzer said. “I can go out there and compete. I went out there against Minnesota last time kind of with a similar issue and was able to compete and locate. … Today, just didn’t get it done and didn’t locate the ball well enough.”

Binghamton starters in twin bill tonight…Suarez and Juarez.
Stink Inc was created early this season and extended at the trade deadline. When your all-world closer goes down, you move everyone up, then they get worn out because the starters can't go more than 5 innings, everyone gets a role they are not ready for. And then Robertson gets traded and everyone is now two roles up from where they should be. This is already bad by design.
I also believe it is exasperated by poor decisions. Last night Butto did not look like he was out of gas. He gave up a good hit and then a lucky one. That's not reason to pull him unless there is some lights out guy in the bullpen to clean up. We don't have that - we Gott Nuthin. And that's how it turned out.
Paul, Buck is a genius. Please don’t argue.
