Mets Sign RHP Kyle Snyder to Minor League
Veteran Named Bisons 2009 Comeback Player of the Year
The New York Mets today announced that they have signed RHP KYLE SNYDER to a minor league contract.
Snyder, 32, spent the entire 2009 season with the Buffalo Bisons, going 3-8 with a 4.23ERA and one save in 33 games and 14 starts with the Herd (104.1IP, 115H, 54R, 49ER, 32BB, 74K). He finished 2nd on the team in innings pitched and 4th in strikeouts. After the season, he was named the Bisons 2009 Comeback Player of the Year.
Snyder has a career minor league record of 14-24 with a 3.80ERA in 120 games and 87 starts. He has also appeared in 93 major league games with the Royals (2005-06) and the Red Sox (2007-09) with an 8-17 mark and a 5.57ERA in 237.2 innings of work. He was on Boston’s World Series roster but did not pitch in the team’s four-game sweep of the Rockies.
