Salomon Manriquez forced the game into extras with a two-run home run in the top of the ninth. Trailing 5-3, Manriquez sent a 2-0 offering from Duff over the left field fence for his third homer of the season.
Rhiner Cruz, who posted a scoreless eighth inning, added two more shutout frames to preserve the tie game. The right-hander gave way to Erik Turgeon who had to sweat through one inning of relief. Turgeon filled the bases with none out before retiring three straight to escape trouble.
With momentum in their favor, the B-Mets jumped on reliever Fernando Hernandez in the twelfth. Pitching in his third straight game, Hernandez allowed a leadoff single to Jean Luc Blaquiere, who moved up on a sac bunt. Following an intentional walk to Reese Havens and a conventional walk to Josh Satin, Dykstra came to the plate with the bases loaded.
The first baseman sent a flare down the left field line that dropped in for a double. Blaquiere and Havens both came home to give the B-Mets a two-run advantage.
Brandon Sage took over in the bottom half of the frame and allowed a long home run to Cody Johnson to cap off a ten pitch at bat. Following back-to-back singles, Yadil Mujica bunted the first pitch he saw in front of the plate. Blaquiere pounced on the slow roller and fired to first in time to lock up the win.
Jeurys Familia did not factor in the decision, but put in a strong effort. The right-hander set a new season-high by racking up 11 strike outs. The B-Mets pitching staff struck out a team-high 16 batters in the game.
